Applying cold potato juice or slices on the armpits will soothe the skin while making the discolouration disappear with time. You can also take equal parts of lemon and potato juice and apply on the underarms for better results.

Lemon
The vitamin C present in the lemon juice will lighten the dark armpits while the acidic properties will exfoliate revealing cleaner skin underneath. Rub a cut lemon on your pits or apply the juice using cotton balls.

Gramflour and curd
Gramflour or besan is an excellent scrub that will clear the skin of dead cells along with making the skin tone even. Lactic acids from the curd will soften and condition the skin. Make a paste of gramflour and curd and apply in a thin layer as mask on your armpits. Leave until it dries and wash with lukewarm water.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar contains mild acids that help to remove dead cells, and is also a great disinfectant. Start with mixing two tablespoons each of this vinegar with baking soda. Apply this mixture for about ten minutes or till the time it is dry. Rinse it with cold water, and repeat it thrice a week to see results.

Olive Oil
Mix a tablespoon each of olive oil with brown sugar, and you have a DIY exfoliator ready! Scrub it for a minute or two, and then leave it for five minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and this can be applied twice a week for effective results.
